About Me
Welcome to HelloKelC Cooks! I’m Kelsey and I’m happy you’re here.
After spending 10 unforgettable years in the Bay Area, I moved back to Colorado in 2021, where my love for food and hosting continues to flourish. There’s nothing I enjoy more than feeding my family and friends. Cooking is my creative outlet, eating is my passion, and food is my ultimate love language.
When I’m not experimenting in the kitchen or exploring new recipes, I’m diving deep into the culinary world—whether it’s through reading, learning about global cuisines, or indulging in food documentaries. I love connecting the dots between food, culture, and politics, sparking spirited debates (Team Rice all the way!) about whether rice or noodles should reign supreme.
Outside of the kitchen, you’ll find me weight-lifting or doing yoga, rediscovering Colorado’s growing food scene, cheering for the Denver Broncos and Colorado Buffaloes, or grabbing a boba with my #TeamRice hubby. Whether I’m traveling or plotting my next food-based escapade, one thing is for sure: I’m always on the hunt for the next great meal.
Thanks for stopping by—I can’t wait to share my food journey with you!
Food Heroes: David Chang, Roy Choi, Samin Nosrat, Dominique Crenn, Eric Kim, Gabriela Camara, Nancy Singleton Hatchisu, Anthony Bourdain, Julia Child and my mom and grandma Daisy.
Favorite Cookbooks: Japan by Nancy Singleton Hatchisu, Salt, Fat, Acid Heat by Samin Nosrat, Momofuku by David Chang (and all Lucky Peach books), Essentials of Italian Cuisine By Marcella Hazan, anything by Olenghetti. I also love reading Anthony Bourdain’s writing. I truly believe everyone can benefit by learning how to cook a good omelette and chopping all their garlic by hand.
