Eat: In Situ

In Situ is a Michelin starred restaurant located in the SF Modern Art Museum. The original concept comes from none other than culinary genius, Corey Lee. Best known for Benu (post coming soon), Corey Lee has taken some of the most loved and well-known dishes from the best chefs around the world and is serving them at this museum hub.

He has worked with and recreated dishes by David Chang, Rene Redzepi, Alice Waters, Massimo Bottura, Hajime Yoneda, James Syhabout, Roy Choi, David Kinch, Daniel Patterson, THE Cecilia Chiang, Kelly Whitaker, Thomas Keller and Sean Brock, just to name a few. The result is a dynamic offering of some of the best dishes served around the world.

We were thoroughly impressed by the raw lobster with yuzu cream and hibiscus (hailing from Denmark) that was beautifully smashed on our plate and looked more like a modern painting in the MOMA than something we should be eating. The other favorite was none other than his recreation of David Chang’s spicy pork sausage and rice cakes served at Momofuku Ssam bar in NYC.

Being in a museum of modern art, the food is crafted in a way that makes it almost too pretty to eat. It comes out in spectacular form and is definitely photo worthy. The best part is that it tastes as good as it looks. I can’t wait to keep checking the menu to see what else he brings to this absolutely stunning spot.

Location - 151 3rd St, San Francisco, CA 94103 (Inside the SF MOMA)
