Eat: Thien Long

After Japanese food, Vietnamese is my favorite type of food to eat. I could eat pho, banh mis, bun bowls and bun xeo any time of day and any day of the week. After one of my best friends introduced me to Thien Long, I realized that I wasn’t even close to scratching the surface of all the things Vietnamese food has to offer.

This place is located in, you guessed it, San Jose in a Vietnamese plaza. It’s a no frills type of place and the thing to get here is the fish spring roll platter. The fish is lightly seasoned and is meant to be stuffed into the circular, sticky spring rolls wrappers. You get to wrap them as fat as you like and stuff in all the delicious greens that accompany pho. It’s reminiscent of Anh Hong but lighter because it’s only one platter of fish and less rounds. The best Vietnamese food is definitely found in San Jose (apart from Orange County).
